Slow Progress

While I have yet to hit the painting slump that I often get at this time of year, progress is still slow, so I dont have anything to post today.  I do have a few miniatures close to finished, but seasonal distractions have taken priority,

Weather permitting I should be able to get some photos of new stuff up by this time next week.

I also have a weekend long session of the Judge Dredd Miniatures Game with MT and PB planned to start this Friday, so I will have a few photos of that too with a bit of luck.

I made an exception this time as I have had the miniatures for this project waiting to go for a while.  Therefore I couldnt resist putting up this trailer while at the very early anticipatory stage of the miniatures project.

Going to Salute!

Salute is one of the best regarded miniature gaming shows in England.  Lots of cool looking display games and an abundance of things for nerds like me to blow vast quantities of cash on.  Retail therapy times a thousand.

I am lucky enough to be flying to London on Friday April 15th to go to an art exhibition with Mrs Sho3box, swanning boozily around for the evening after dinner and then attending Salute for a few hours on Saturday.  We fly home that that evening after what I hope to be a small but perfectly formed trip.

I have my small shopping list made out and I hope to pick up some odd bits and pieces that I might never get around to buying online.  Seeing some great game displays in person will be inspiring too.

I will be bringing my camera and I will be putting some photos up here on Sunday 17th with a bit of luck.

If anyone reading this is going to be at Salute and fancies meeting up and/or experiencing the heady thrill of having their photo taken avec moi then let me know 🙂

Regular Posting Resumes. Take THAT 2011!

So far 2011 has been pretty crappy at Sho3box towers.

But that’s all over with now.

Its unseasonably sunny this week, I have mostly caught up with my college stuff for the time being and I have recently got quite a lot of toy soldier related stuff done.  With all of those positive vibes circulating I am going to start posting here regularly again, starting with a proper content post, about one minute after this admin post goes up.

I will also be putting up some extra stuff in addition to the usual two posts a week for the first couple of weeks, just to make up for some lost time and to reassure regular readers that things are back on track.

Short Hiatus

Following on from last weeks hi-jinks I am up to my gills in college and work commitments.  As a result I am going too have to take a week or two off regular posting.

Back when things calm down a bit, in a week or two.  I should be able to get some photos taken of some of the newer stuff that I have painted before then too.

Real Life Consequence

No “proper” post today Im afraid.  I skidded on patch of ice on my way to work this morning (Tuesday), spun 180 degrees and crashed my car into a ditch.  Twice.

No permanent damage to me (the same cannot be said for my Toyota Corolla), but my enthusiasm for writing about toy soldiers is uncharacteristically absent right now.  Thats a rarity for me.

Despite the rude intrusion of real life into the reality-free-zone that is this blog,  I will be heroically back on schedule on Sunday.
