Sin Eater Chaos Terminator Squad Romero

Squad Romero was painted in late 1999 as the ongoing development of my 40k Nurgle Chaos army, the Sin Eaters.  At the time I was playing a lot of 40k but even then, Terminators were never really that competitive a choice for the tournament games that I was playing.  I couldnt resist painting these guys up however: they are cool figures.

I bought the figures even further back than that: in 1993 or 1994.  The zombie heads from the GW sprue obviously came later than that (was that sprue released in 1999?).

Sgt. Romero is the only figure here with its original head… in case anyone was wondering.

I have been putting together some scenery for gaming with recently.  Not a lot of big items, mostly just premade bits and pieces like GW craters and other similar stuff.  In particular I have been getting together some small terrain markers to serve game purposes such as enounter markers, denoting radioactive or toxic areas, scenario objectives etc, a bit like the Zombie Crows from a little while back.  Trixie above fits nicely under “scenario objectives”.

Trixie is promotional resin figure available from Ramshackle Games.  They have loads of cool post-apocalyptic stuff for good prices.  Recommended.

Warlord Titan and Imperial Navy

Rounding up the shots of my Epic scale stuff (for a while) are my titan and navy support units for my traitor Sin Eater space marines.  The titan and attendant navy units colour scheme is more or less an inversion of the Sin Eaters in a effort to tie them together pallete wise at least.  I never named either my traitor titan legion or this particular Warlord: I really should come up with something…

The navy units have the same scheme as the legion as they are intended to represent Praetorian or Skitarii titan legion support troopers.  The fighters and bombers are EM4 miniatures rather than “official” GW stuff, not that it matters.

My Chaos Space Marine Chapter is the Sin Eaters.  I put together a large 40k army of Sin Eaters from ’99 to ’02 or so.   They were pretty nicely painted and I won a few prizes for them as a result.   I will be putting up some photos of those guys at a later date.

To complement my 40k Sin Eaters I put together an Epic (6mm) Sin Eater force in ’04.  I am a big fan of the look of games played in this scale: it gives a better impression of large battles than 28mm and allows for a very grand perspective.  Adeptus Titanicus was my first GW game and as a result I have a soft spot for the scale.

The Sin Eaters were always played as a Nurgle force, even though I used a lot of Imperial marine pieces when putting them together in both scales.  As a result you will see some rather theatrical wear and tear effects on these miniatures, in keeping with the Nurglesque corruption motif.

Inquisitor Terminators

I had these figures for nearly 20 years and finally got around to painting them last year.  I painted them up for use in Space Hulk.
