Star Wars & 02 Hundred Hours

I’ve been playing the wonderful 02 Hundred Hours from Grey for Now games recently. As thoroughly expected from one of the creators of the equally fantastic Test of Honour, 0200hrs is full of slick, tense, cinematic and critically, fun reasons to push toy soldiers around.

That said, this post is about a re-skin of 0200hrs, in order to play Star Wars games, specifically Star Wars games that feel a little bit like Andor, or Rogue One. Standard, thoroughly-great-in-it’s-own-right 02 Hundred Hours content will hopefully appear at a later date.

0200hrs and Star Wars went together like salt and caramel, so at the first opportunity I supplied the terrain (my Mos Xcellent stuff primarily) and a buddy supplied the miniatures for both sides. The game looked pretty good – my not-so-inner-nine-year-old was very impressed.

I’lll let the pictures do the talking from here on.

Thanks for looking!

  1. That’s a PHENOMENAL table! I’d completely forgotten about this terrain set, as good as it is. A good grimy street fight, it is indeed Andor-flavored. All you’re missing is is a transparent figure of Maarva Andor…

    • Oooh, a transparent Marva-esque hologram would be great… I’ll have a think/keep an eye out for that.

Weird fact: the cousin of the actress who played Marva was bridesmaid at my wedding.

      Thanks for the feedback Allison!

    • Thanks Azazel!

After swearing off Star Wars miniatures (due to common or garden hobby impulse control issues), it is both slightly odd and perfectly apt that a WWII game is what finally tipped me over.

I can see all sorts of SW gaming on the horizon now.

  4. This looks amazing! I never would have thought of it but 0200 Hours and Rogue One are a perfect match.

    • Yeah, its slightly odd, but perfectly apt, isn’t it?

SW starfighter combat has been obviously WWII in nature to me since my teens I expect. Ground combat in SW has tended to veer even a bit towards WWI trench style warfare, despite the obvious higher tech available to the participants.

It only recently occurred to me how much of Star Wars – not just Andor/Rogue One – is spec-ops, sabotage and general sneaking about though.

I had not yet watched Andor season 2 when I started playing SW0200 games, but I did find it fun to be playing a WWII ruleset with a SW Rebel Sleeper Cell (French Resistance essentially) when the Ghorman Resistance in the show turned out to speak pidgin French while wearing berets 😀
