I decided to combine a little of the post apocalyptic jalopy and a little of high tech dystopian chic side of Gaslands in the groovy set of wheels that make up the final entry in this project.
Being an open-topped/convertible, the “Carbonic” Hot Wheels needed a crew, which I got from Ramshackle Games. I also added an unfeasibly large ray gun from Northstar, for cheap laughs. Even after the unexpected success of the Katy, where I kinda made it up as I went along, I wasn’t sure if I could make this car work. I’m still not sure that I did to be honest, but the Oneshot is definitely finished, and with it the Gasland Slay Ride Advent(ure).
The Oneshot is definitely a bit more “Speed Racer” than some of the other vehicles in the project, which certainly is no bad thing. I am pleased with the variety of the look across the various cars across the project: the last thing that I would have wanted is for every car to look like the one before and after it, and that isn’t the case, which is great.
For now, I hope that any of you who followed along enjoyed the 24 posts, and whether you did or didn’t, have a Happy Xmas.

And we arrive at the finish line! This was fun! Only thing missing is a family shot of the whole thing 😀

And a happy Xmas to you too Alex, and thanks for the kind words.
As for the chequered flag, that’s not for another ten seconds or so…

Nice! I could have used that ray gun for the car I’m working on… Handy.

The ray gun isn’t something that I thought that I would use any time soon really, with my first Gaslands push being mainly aimed at post apocalyptic jalopies with gunpowder weapons, but I didn’t really want to do that with this car, which has lovely lines.
So I ruined those lines with a massive RAY GUN 😅

This is a lovely car. The red stripes give it an air of the 1960s Batmobile. I’m guessing goofy OTT glowing energy weapons make you uneasy as the tech-level is too high for your version of your universe. BUT NOT MY VERSION of the sho3niverse.

😁 I’m less averse to cyberpunk/sci-fi high tech weapons in Gaslands than you suspect I think Curis.
Dark Future (which I find that I inevitably mentally call back to a bit in this project) features laser weaponry and cyberpunk dystopian themes heavily for example. I’m a big fan of the Speed Racer (2008) movie too, which features a lot of bizarre high tech, along with hornet nest catapults. I did initially focus on Fury Road tech level vehicles for Gaslands, but you can expect a mix of high and low tech/low life in my Gaslands stuff going forward.
It is a lovely car design. I used the fun Ramshackle driver and rider, but in retrospect, high tech crew would have worked better. I still like the finished product though: it’s fun, like some henchman vehicle in a Saturday morning cartoon.
